This week was an exercise in Senior NCO diplomacy, typical army bureaucracy and extreme restraint as I battled incompetence in some of my “peersâ€, raged against the bureaucratic machine that is echelons above company level and kept from putting a 1SG fatwa out on some Soldiers (junior NCOs at that) that have forgotten what it is to be a Soldier. That all having been said…the vast majority of the troops are stellar and I am very pleased with the unit so far.
But the weekend brought legendary good times and a pretty decent hangover -
A quick shout out to those that have made this weekend stellar - Deb and Justin, thanks for dinner, it was good to see you both! The regulars at the “James Joyce Pubâ€, thanks for the Irish Car Bombs, the rum and coke and the hang over! The ladies at the pub, the club and the bar - J thanks for the dancing and laughs! To my wingman – you know who you are – Raise what’s left of the flag for me!
If you readers ever get to ATL and are in need of a great Pub – check out the James Joyce in Avondale Estates, in the Decatur area– damn fine joint…
